That's a crazy project and lots of custom fabrication, fair play I say!

Yes lots of custom work... looking forward to seeing how it performs when finished, should be no slouch though!

Fingers crossed that's the aim as his 996 Turbo whilst being his favourite car he finds a bit "boring" after some of his previous toys, too easy to drive and not scary enough.... i think this will fill that void..

I assume the OP is "thanks Dave" in the build thread?

Awesomely insane project!

My only comment would be his rear subframe doesn't look anywhere near strong enough. I know he's joining it to the chassis, but I still think it will twist as squares aren't strong shapes, I'd suggest adding some triangulation.

Yes I am the Dan mentioned in the build thread...

Thanks for the feedback, the rear end is far from finished yet, it'll be plenty strong by the time its done, you would be amazed how much strength is added by the thin sheet across an axis.

I was thinking it needed a brace across the top, the panelling in looks good and strong, but I remember how sturdy the panel work was on my Uno of similar vintage...

You can say that again... We were attempting to manoeuvre the front engine on its mounts thought "that's just about got it" then realised we were actually moving the chassis legs...
