Just picked up yesterday - happy christmas to me!

Only modifications I am looking at are side steps to protect from supermarket dings.

Happy motoring mate. What are your initial thoughts?

I know they don't get a great write-up but two guys I work with both have one. One is same spec as yours and was a replacement for an X3 and the other is an Exclusiv and uses his to tow a caravan.

Neither have a bad word to say about them and the guy who replaced the X3 actually says he prefers the Antara which I was surprised at.

So far so good. Very comfortable and nice to be high up again after coming from a Mondeo. Lots of toys which I like but haven't yet taken it for a run to check out mpg and cruise control.
Waiting for a call back from the dealer with regard to the lights as there is not a symbol on the dash to let you know your lights are on which I find a bit odd.
As I drive it more I will update this thread.
Oh and before anyone asks it's not on PCP as I got such a great deal (with military discount etc.

Lots of cars don't have anything on the dash to say your lights are on.

Like these. Although why they still ship with those horrid metal windscreen wipers instead of aero ones like the insigina I don't know!

I think normal wiper blades look better, aero blades look so stupid on any car. They rarely fit the windscreen and stick out like massive rectangles or flippers.

I suppose it doesn't matter that much on a 4x4 but on a sports car, I think it spoils the whole look.

I remember the days when wiper blade concealment was cool

Op: you didn't say which engine/transmission you've chosen?
I've only ever been a rear seat passenger in one of these as my stepdad has one. He's 70, has a VERY heavy right foot, and has the diesel auto. Around town he manages 19mpg!
I hope your driving enables better mpg. wink

It's the 2.2 cdti manual and I am a bit of an mpg hunter. So we will see how high I can get it on a run. Took it for a short spin along the motorway this morning and the mpg started creeping up.
Going to Kent on Monday so it will be interesting how it is after that return journey.
Previous car was a Mondeo tdci and I had that at over 55mpg however I don't think I will get anywhere near that.

I have been driving it a bit more in the last couple of days and the average mpg is now up to 31.6! I think that I should be able to get it up to about 35 and if I can I'll be happy with that.
Would be interested in what other owners have managed to get.

Im running one of ours as my demonstrator at the moment. Its the 163ps, nudging 33mpg is about as good as it gets with mine. It does do predominantly short journeys (7miles each way) and has an average of 32.6 with a tad more on a run.

re the lights - theres no dash light to indicate if the headlight are on or not

Hope you;ll enjoy the car.

Thanks for the info regarding the mpg and the lights. The car will mainly be used on longer journeys so cross fingers on the economy hunt.
