I have a new phone. A spot of man maths made the 60 quid minimum to fix my other phone or 135 to do an early upgrade become one choice...

I have heard that one, yes. However my cynicalometer does wonder how true it actually is. Myths and legends and lore and bks. biggrin

Oh, yes, Aston Martin, home of the apochyphal story. In the fifties when the race cars were driven to and fro the meetings at home and abroad, the team returned to the factory late one Sunday night to discover no one had a key so they had to break in to return the cars.

Morning Pad.

Morning all.

It's still blooming cold here today. I was hoping for a few commutes by bike this week, but it now looks very unlikely. grumpy

I currently have three of my six blown, but I'm weighing up the cost of LEDs.

Overslept this morning in Pencoed and avoided the motorway back to Barry by driving along the coast road. Lovely it was. The sun was shining and the view was of North Devon across a misty Bristol Channel. It's smashing here when it's not raining.

I remember my dad telling someone that he was 41 when he was 31.

That said, he did look at least 41 and drove a Rover 800. At least it was a Vitesse.

I remember my mum crying all day when she was 30.

She's 86 now and has finally recognised the futility of regretting one's age.

I don't understand people who are miserable about their age, especially when they have their health. It mainly seems to be the 30-45 age group too, who are not actually feeling many effects of age yet.

"I'm getting old!"

So is everybody else, at exactly the same rate as you. What makes you so special? Toughen up and get on with what equally diminishing life you have left.

(I'm feeling grumpy today. grumpy)

Have you had old folk look at you all misty eyed and say, "Don't get old" ?

Okay, then. Outline the alternatives for me, would you?
