Flannery's in Third Way on the British Empire Exhibition site.

We used occasionally to dine in The Palace of Arts aka The Stadium Staff Canteen.

The canteen was run by a poker faced crew of Turks.

"What do your omelettes have in them?"
"Eggs."

The original names for the roads for the British Empire Exhibition were coined by Rudyard Kipling. The only one that survives, I believe, is Engineers Way.

For reasons I can't articulate, that reminds me of storming out of the toll booths on the Severn Crossing at six this morning. Usually, being in my 1.9 diesel, I leave the Toll Booth Grand Prix to others but an AMG SL and I had gone in simultaneously and I came out first with me wondering whether I could make it to the bottle neck back on to normal motorway before him. Whether he realised it was a wind-up or not I am unable to say but I can report that an AMG SL63 at full chat makes a glorious noise.

And gathers pace admirably.

Could someone quote mine and put "How DARE you?" beneath it?

None of it will do any good, mind, he loves attention in any of its humiliating forms.
