Any car for sale in Aberdeen.....
THIS^^

Aberdeen and Aberdeenshire. You can easily find an identical car elswhere in the country for at the very least a grand less.
Maybe not now that the arse has fallen out of the oil price biggrin
Yeah, I thought that as well being involved with Oil and Gas, the dealers up there must be used to Rig workers and other oil folk coming in with wads of cash though it may have slowed down a bit of late.

"There is no battery in it so I couldn't verify the mileage, but the owner says it is definitely between 150 and 200 miles" oh, ok then.
I don't see how it's that overpriced. A basically delivery mileage car, one of the best Rover ever produced, from a now defunct brand with a large following.
10k!!??

LOL
I think the zero it's a misprint. This is the FWD one as well isn't it? If you wanted a retro water, half that buys you a very decent facelift S-Type, with 8 cylinders.

I know they are kinda special but £13,500 for a Racing Puma with 68K on is pure insanity.

I've been to Four Star, one of the guys that works there had his car for sale (private, not through 4*). I walked around all the cars that ppl have mentioned here, they are almost in new condition, and a bit more time and maybe I would have spotted the little bits of age and so on ( I spotted the fluid leak on the EVO M3),

Anyhow, when I collected the car the following day, Saturday, there were people in the show room starting cars up and giving serious inspection, these ppl struck me as ppl who knew what they wanted, and also who knew what to pay. As I said to my mates they were not flash new money, but enthusiasts with money.

Any Aston Martin. Overpriced ste.
Useful, insightful and articulate point of view. Contributes massively to the thread.

In fact, i'm frankly amazed Dan Trent has'nt been in touch to offer you a job........
I think his tongue may have been in his cheek (check Garage).

Either that or he's been unlucky with his car and suffered poor service.

Don't think the 75 is going to be a classic in years to come.

Only reason people still buy them is because they are cheap as chips and if the engine goes bang they can get another for £500.

They've been at this for ages...
Genuinely interested, do they actually sell anything?

Cygnet. Not even going to call it an Aston Martin because it just isn't. It's an Aygo with an expensive badge. Actually, no, i'm not going to tarnish Toyota's great little city car like that.

I think we tend to look at these prices with a 'market' hat on rather than that of someone who wants to buy the best possible car of a particular type. We get a bit too wrapped up sometimes in thinking what the market values something at, without thinking about individuals who are willing to pay what it takes to get something - the difference between the average punter, I suppose, and the focused individual. This is clearly the market they are going for - as someone above pointed out, moneyed enthusiasts and collectors. These people aren't looking to do a deal, they're looking to buy the best possible car they can, and probably have a specific budget in mind that they're willing to spend on it - which may be knowingly more that the 'market value', specifically so they can feel they are getting the best. None of their cars are commodity vehicles, they're all performance cars, classics, or otherwise unique or interesting and if they can create an impression (rightly or wrongly) of their example being 'the best of its type' then they can justify that price.

We may quibble about the prices, but there's no denying their cars are absolutely beautiful, and their website endorses a sense of professionalism with the detail on each car and slick but gimmick-free presentation. A fascinating website to just browse about on.

Agree with that.

The likes of 4Star charge a helluva premium for a thorough detailing and a posh set of photos, but there's nothing stopping any of us doing the same, so people should really quit moaning! Good luck to them.

I agree, it is expensive, but if you want to have (or at least, think you have) the best possible 205 1.6 GTi then you'd be tempted. £12k isn't a lot of money for a reasonably well-heeled enthusiast to pay if it's his passion.
