What will they claim cost price to be? I know there will be bonuses outside of the margin for units sold etc etc. And yes I agree the dealers do need to make money but any idea what cost will be claimed as?

The details on the web site are reasonably straight forward.
These will be on offer to our customers for the price invoiced to us by Volkswagen directly.I am an interested party in this, so will have to be careful what I can say, my understanding is it's exactly what it says on the tin.
Needless to say, sitting outside this is any volume bonuses achieved (or not), margin on financial & insurance products.

I'm always sceptical about these sort of offers, too good to be true and all that!
I think realistically you might save 10 - 15% maximum but I guess it will depend on the model. As always compare the price offered with what you can get through a broker like drivethedeal.com rather than the list price.

Yes so what is the invoice price? How much off list?
Will depend on model, and the demand for said model......expect little off a sought after golf GTD others could be double digits +Genuinely pop in and see what they say...I don't have access to margin list - so can't expand.
What I will say (which is in the public domain) is it's lookers year end (dec 31st) so they will be keen to maximise units sold.

reckon 5-10% - its not that much
As opposed to the usual 50% discount that you usually achieve?Hardly a booming incentive to buy a car you otherwise wouldnt.
go troll somewhere else.

Have a look at drive the deal or coast2coastcars
A quick look on coast to coast suggests about 10-12% off list accross the range.
I reckon their "cost price" will be about 5% off list... Marketing BS mainly.
Which was excactly my point, before TVR1 started drivelling down the whole threadA quick look on coast to coast suggests about 10-12% off list accross the range.

I have no idea what you are on about tbh, or what relevance it has to this topic.
Well, in a previous thread you started, you are suggesting you purchased a Special Mercedes at a huge discount and that you are the font of all knowledge in regards to discounts.-and gave this purchase as an example of your cunning and guile. However, in your wisdom, you didn't spot that the car you purchased has neither the correct wheels nor badging. Furthermore, unfortunately that chassis number doesn't appear on the Merc records as an S70. mistakes do happen, of course so I wont say 100% that it's wrong.
On the balance of probabilities though, you've been mugged.
So perhaps best to not give wisdom or advice on topics you have no real world experience of.

Rather than inventing a fantasy in your own mind.
An individual model within the range will have a wholesale margin, and the manufacturer's invoice price to the retailer will be the list price for the car less that margin.
Any bonuses are paid seperately and don't form part of the invoice so won't reduce the "cost price" for this promotion. (Also, any additional "bonus money" assumes that the dealer qualifies based on volume objectives and may also contain elements relating to model-mix or other measures).
I have to admit that I'm tired of providing information, test drives, demonstrators, service facilities etc for people who choose to buy from bedroom brokers with no overheads in order to save a bit of cash and who then wonder why my courtesy cars are always available to go to MY customers first and not to them!

So if my car is a fake, I guess the welded Mercedes plaquet is a fake?
this one fake too then?
The wheels are different because this is a newer model with newer wheels, its a 98 model as opposed to the 96-97 with different wheels.
I have already received all the paperwork and it checked out, even rang AMG in Germany and they confirmed it.
Mugged? Sure...Jog on mate.
