Fixed penalty speeding fine Southern Ireland?

Hi Guys,

Just got a letter from S Ireland for speeding, a scamera van at 5am in the morning, fixed penalty.
i cant quite fathom whether the points will be applied to my UK license or not?
Can you just treat this as like being done in France or whatever (in other words bin it?).
