Lord of Misrule

I understand that Ade refused to take part in the production because he felt it was (quote) too wacky, and too flippant to do Rik any justice. Having watched last night I tend to agree with him. With it being Xmas and all, why didn't the BBC show the brilliant Bottom episode "Holy" afterwards, rather than a Young Ones episode?

I watched it, and the Blackadder before and the Young Ones after. Yes showing Holy would have been better as it's Christmas. No mention of Rik Mayall Presents either (probably because it was on ITV ). I'd liked to have seen the cop buddy movie idea that Lenny Henry was talking about, Henry and Mayall as police partners, but everybody thinks they're a gay couple .
They covered The New Statesman which was on ITV, so it's a mystery why they left out Rik Mayall Presents. A one hour documentary was simply not long enough to do justice to more than 30 years of genius. By the way, didn't Chris Ryan look rough? I'm looking forward to the Xmas episode of Man Down on C4, but it will be very sad without Rik.
Nice to see some of that stuff on TV again, but not having Ade involved when they were so integral to each other meant it could never really be a fully fitting tribute IMO. Can understand how it might have felt too showbiz for him. Would have been nice to see an episode of Bottom rather than one of the weaker Young Ones - "Hole" would have been great.
