"Climate control" is a bit of a misnomer I agree, but I don't believe you seriously can't see how it works. Perfectly reasonable to be able to let the passenger choose a different temperature for the air coming out of their vents. Useful when I like to be a pleasant temperature, but my girlfriend insists that she must have the temperature set to just slightly cooler than smelting furnace, because woman.I spend my life adjusting them in Audi so they match its giving me OCD
In my car, adjusting the drivers temperature adjusts both; it's only when the passenger adjusts their own that the values differ. Then just press the "DUAL" button again and the temperatures lock together again. I thought that would be standard on all dual climate systems.

Press and hold the auto button and they will both be controlled by the drivers side. It's in the handbook.I spend my life adjusting them in Audi so they match its giving me OCD
what's not to understand? It's just like regular climate control, with 2 zone
both zone have 1 or more vents which can blow hot or cold air independently of the other zone , both zone have 1 or more temperature sensors.
If one zone is too cold, it gets warm air until it reaches the right temp, if it's too warm it gets cold air. The warmer zone will be constantly losing it's heat into the colder zone, but the colder zone will continually get refreshed with cooler air.
It doesn't need to keep the air at a constant temp everywhere across exactly 50% of the car they are designed for comfort, not highly temperature sensitive experiments.

Don't understand the fuss or criticism of it, really. It's worked perfectly well in the past three cars we've had.
T'other half always prefers it slightly warmer than I do and it does this admirably. Fairly obviously though, it would not simultaneously melt her shoes whilst freezing my pods off!

My car has 3 zones. The front 2 are climate control where you specify the temperature by number. The back is done with a hot to cold dial. Each zone can be controlled individually or combined. I like a cool car and my wife likes it warm. Dual zones is particularly useful when driving North - South as one person is in the sun for the journey and one isn't.
