Coventry - Decent tyre fitters
Discussion
I would go only to BT Tyres in Rugby. Not Coventry admittedly but also not miles away. I have always had great service there with the Director being quite into cars himself. Furthermore he has always given great advice with wheel/tyre choices in addition to being one of the few people I know who can actually balance centreless (aka most Peugeot wheels) without them vibrating at motorway speeds like Ann Summers' finest (almost everywhere I tried locally could not ever nail the wheel balancing right, including large tyre specific firms (Besides Kwik Fit) who should know better with their reputation (and have been mentioned in this thread).
I also echo what EddyP said . It is almost laughable how badly people can balance tyres.

Sometimes they are trying to overcome wheel problems. I've used these guys with a Hunter roadforce balancer when others fail. Pretty good too.Edited by SebringMan on Tuesday 23 December 01:52

This I can appreciate. The fact that I had often cured bad wheel vibrations with simply balancing (even on new wheels!) is laughable.http://www.jacksonsford.co.uk/service-and-repair/w...
Likewise, BT use a Hunter machine which seems to do the job very well.
[quote=Who me ?]On the other hand, never had any problems with any Britania branch or Just Tyres in Nuneaton, except that JT had to be pulled up on correct torque for VAG wheels. They show it as 120 lb/ft, when it's 120 NM.

I wasn't impressed when I took my Mini clubman there quite a few years ago, the day before a show for a new front tyre, and for him them to shear off a stud with their impact gun when doing it back up!
I've also watched the britannia lads rattle gun up the nuts on my S2K, then use a torque wrench to "check them", not a lot of point if the torque wrench clicks straight away, they don't seem to understand the point of the torque wrench. Their boss didn't seem to think it was an issue, they checked they were tight.
Sorry its Just tyres in Kenilworth, think it was tyre sales many years ago.

A bit late to this party..... Another vote for Jacksons of Henley, or TMS Volvo on the London Road. Had 2 tyres fitted for the RS4 there the other week - I was really impressed with the service.
Alternatively, if you're not a member but want to give them a go, ping me a PM and I'll accompany you to Costco on the A45 and flash my card for you!
