Drop links

Hello can any one give me some help please. I have had my rear brakes and disc changed on my St focus 56 plate a week. From a garage a week Ago I have just come to find a clanking noise from rear it's like when you shake a hand ful off washers in your hand so had it in to kwik fit they say my rear drop link needs changing which they say 60 quid on letting it down from ramps they did say and show me the clip on the caliper missing would this be the course of the noise and is the garage liable to replace the missing clip as it was them who fitted them should it be able. To fall off so easy . Any help would be appreciated

Go back to original garage, tell them you have a rattling and see what they say, bearing in mind the missing clip. Ignore kwik fit and dont mention to original garage you took it to kwik fit.

The noise you describe does sound more like brake pads rattling than ARB drop links: with drop links, you usually get a knocking noise.

Does the noise go away when you apply the brakes?

Either way, I'd be inclined to fit the missing clips before doing the drop links.

Hi rattling is happening when going over bumps there is a knocking noise so I do believe on the drop links it's in garage Wednesday so will keep you all posted thanks for the advice
