My work is on George Street and I could hear emergency vehicles and a helicopter, so I knew something happened.

My chum in the area says the whole square is locked down including his office.

Erm, speeding through town, ploughing into people and into a main entrance of a building. You could argue it doesn't look deliberate. I just think it does with the little info I've seen. Time will tell..

Best avoiding that area if you're in a car. You can still get about city centre on foot.

Was he speeding ? Can't you link a report that says that ? Based on nothing at all, why couldn't it be he just collapsed at the wheel and this was the rare occasion it happens in the worse way and not just rolls slowly into a mud bank in the sticks ?

A few pics i found on the subject. Seems like the Lorry smashed through several cars (pic 1) before hitting a taxi and crashing (pic 2).





Some eyewitnesses and footage seems to show the lorry drove straight through several lights and junctions at speed before crashing into the building.

Tragic I was in Town today with family which makes it all the more real and sad. RIP to the people caught up in this, reports suggesting 6 dead so early is not a good sign.

Heart attack at the wheel seems more likely than deliberate act IMHO.

Latest news is the driver has suffered a heart attack.
