So, Nissan have responded to the f1 helmet rule by doing the opposite:

http://www.dailysportscar.com/2015/03/03/nismos-31...

Fans get to design Ordonez' le mans helmet. I tried to link a oic, but dsc foesn't do hotlinking...

That's what I'd do, if I had a mouse, or a better editing program than MS paint, or any ability.

Still, another great bit of engagement from the Nissan boys..

Unfortunately they've had to end their Sebring test early due to unspecified carbon damage.

If it's going to break, it's going to break at Sebring.

Few pics from Geneva. It's a shell obviously but looks better close up than in pics. Very odd to see relative width of fronts/rears the 'wrong' way round. Really hope it's competitive but those radiators are a concern - can just see an innocuous little shunt that would just be a new nose for the Audis etc causing Nissan a big headache.

I'm presuming that the vid is from the side of the drivers bash hat, but still...

I was initially sceptical of this design purely based on the assumption from images that a mild frontal / front 3/4 impact would hurt them vastly more than audi.. To me, if that is the visibility from the cockpit, nissan are fked. They'll be in the garage constantly, having driven into middle eastern Ferraris who have the audacity to be slow at the apex...

Bit of a shame to hear that. Although I now don't feel too bad about not making it to Silverstone or Spa if the Nissan won't be there. Just hope this extra time makes them competitive for LM and they don't "pull an Aston".

I'm wondering if they will struggle to beat the AMR-Ones record now. Perhaps they are scribbling a mid engined car on the back of fag packet as we speak.

I expect they will come good. Just because it is unconventional and not instantly on the pace/reliable it is very easy to write it off.

Its a pity I will miss them at Silverstone as I can't make Le Mans this year. But Toyota did Miles and miles and miles of testing - seemed to go on forever - and even then their first Le Mans was done as a bit of a rush in order the help the ACO out with SOMEONE other than Audi in P1.
