There's a watchmaking business based not too far from me (Timefactors), and looking through the website the other day I saw a really very nice looking watch, with the name of the city included in the branding:

Its a classy looking watch with a hand-winding movement, but other than that it occurred to me that it's a nice change to see "Sheffield" and "Great Britain" included on the watch face branding, and its the first time I can remember seeing a watch brand including the name of a regional British city.

Aside from how nice the watch is, and many of the other watches he makes, I just wish the guy could find someone to model his watches with an arm that looks less like a dead elephants trunk (see the website, you can't miss it)

Are there any other watch brands that hail from british cities? The only other one I can think of that displays the name on the watch face is Christopher Ward (London).

Bremonts (certainly some) have London on the dial regardless of where they are made / assembled.

I didn't think 'Brentford & Burgdorf' came across to well, so went with a more generic 'United Kingdom & Switzerland' :-)

I don't know - Brentford & Burgdorf has a certain ring to it. Don't forget, for most people the town names won't have the same connotations as they might for the people who live there wink

True, but the interesting thing about Brentford is that it's slowly dissapearing. Every new development along the Thames is called Kew something, 'Kew View', 'Kew Reach', 'Kew just about visible on a clear day'. Even our illustrious local council has got in on the act now as a big new development area vaguely close to kew is being marketed as 'Kew Gate'

That's a lovely looking watch. I have a particularly attractive arm, I will volunteer my services in return for a watch.
hehe

I've got one of those upstairs... Deciding whether or not to give it to my Dad tomorrow or keep it for myself... It's abso-bloody-lutely gorgeous, the manual wind is silky smooth and the decoration of the movement is very high grade.

Highly recommended, it's best quality thing Eddie/Timefactors have done IMHO.

Robert Loomes is another Britiah watchmaker though; unlike Bremont they really are trying to do it right.

Is it as good "in the flesh" as looks on screen? I certainly looks fantastic in the photos.
