Personally I'd look to add some size...5' 10 and 74 kg is pretty light.
Tell me about it. My problem is that I'm now at 74kg after trying to obtain a 6 pack. This time last year I was up around 90kg, by late last year I was at 82ish, now I'm where I am. Still no 6pack though... Clearly I'm doing something wrong, or I'm a genetic fail (most likely both).

Obviously something hasn't gone to plan.
From my reading of all things fitness on the internet (there's a lot of confusing stuff out there), but when you are looking to lose fat...you've got to be pretty careful not to lose the muscle you've built up when you were bulking.
So, it may be that 1,500 cals was too low. Therefore muscle was used before fat? Sorry I'm not much help!
You were cutting too hard, ukwill. So your muscle disappeared as well as your fat. I did this about 2-3 years ago when the original transformation thread was created. (Where is OC btw?) Went down to 62kg at 5'8"! Then it clicked, I doubled my intake (to about 2700) and focused on lifting and enjoying it. No longer was I knackered before starting the session!!
Nowadays I focus more on fitness and lifting than cutting/dieting. I'm back to 72kg but I look healthier and more athletic. I flex my abs for a giggle in front of the mirror every morning and night. Not bad for a moaning old git.
Also, for food, I have no fking idea what I'm eating these days. Had 8 mini samosas, a packet of crisps and an Austerity Crunchie* for lunch. I do eat healthier but I try not to undereat as I want fuel for the sports I play so I often top up with junk food after a couscous chicken salad!
* - the new name for the smaller Crunchies now that Cadbury's is being tight. On the plus side, when I put the Crunchie against my mini-hoofy, I look well-hung unlike before.

So erm I took a recommended dose of sodium bicarbonate earlier following from a recommended website for all sorts of stuff.
Turns out the dose I took doubles up as a laxative, I had to stop early as I've been pissing out of my arse for the last hour. Lesson learnt
On the plus side, it did work as a lactic buffer as my calfs normally try to cramp on the walk home and I haven't even noticed it today

After a month off?
Probably 50-60% of previous 1RM to ease back in.
