If you want to avoid being dragged arounds the sales, head for Northamptonshire......

''Vintage, classic and historic cars and motorcycles will fill the streets – displayed, demonstrated, and driven with pride – through the picturesque Market Place and down historic North Street… offering great photo opportunities. Vehicle sprints will be set off in categories: Vintage cars and Bikes(pre war); Vintage cars and bikes(post war); Historic cars and Bikes (1960-1980); Classic Cars and bikes(1980-2000). To close the event, Rally cars of all eras will switch on their headlamps for a frosty twilight parade through the historic and attractive streets of Oundle. This charming town offers a packed day delivering fun, food, and entertainment for all the family, from 10am till that chequered flag drops at four…. For a taste of the type of vehicles definitely attending check out YouTube Qprep Monthly Motors Meets.''

I'll be there, and with a bit of luck will be competing.

My father went to Oundle and, by sheer coincidence, my godfather now lives there. Sadly can't make it this year but will put it in the diary for next year instead.

Good luck to those involved / competing!

It was well worth the effort, and I managed to be the final entrant from the reserve list ! It was unfortunate that a few residents decided they weren't so keen on the event at the eleventh hour resulting in a shortened course but still an enjoyable day and with the profits going to worthwhile causes. As it was so well supported and attended I sincerely hope that it becomes a regular fixture with an extension to the course.

Great event. Did not know what to expect, but was pleasantly suprised. Impressed by the quality and variety of cars/bikes, and great to hear them in action, even if it was limited.

I can't open the pics either. Hope the other residents were happy with how things went, it'd be worth having a few extra straw bales next time further along from the Bus Stop, may have helped in the 2 offs that occurred !

Just checked your profile Mark, did you take part in your Aero 8, if so we were in the same group and I believe you're a friend of Steve (Orange T350).

I did and yes in the Aero 8. Steve i only really know through a mutual friend that also has a T350, but a coupe and in silver….also in our group right behind Steve.

Spoke with some of the traders today who said it was excelling for them and the town, so that has got to be a good thing, but we will have a de brief in the next few weeks to get a balance opinion and to plan for 2015

Not heard about this until this topic appeared. Sounds like a great event (can't see the pics either).

I live in Rutland a few miles north of Oundle. Decided against going in the end because of the snow we had on Boxing Day - I assumed the snow & ice we had would mean the event wouldn't happen!

Note made in diary for 2016 wink
