Masons - Hitchin

Looking for a slight favour from some fellow (more local) PH'ers - I'm travelling down from Central Scotland to view a car for sale at Masons of Hitchin. They seem like a very organised and trustworthy business from a fairly short phone call. Are my initial impressions correct? Anyone had any dealings with them? I'm just trying to allay my fears of a wasted trip. Many thanks.

I used to live near them before moving to France and never heard of anyone having any trouble. When they started up they just did late model 4x4's but seems they have expanded somewhat.

Old fashioned car dealer working from home.

Someone bought a former car of mine which had ended up with this dealer. The buyer tracked me down to ask for advice during his negotiations so I know a bit about them from his pov. PM me if you're interested in details.

He used to run a Suzuki Dealership in town, and as previously mentioned, now sells from his home .
I've not heard anything negative.

Gerry Mason is a nice guy and his stock is always spot on. He has a whopping great big house and most of the stuff he deals in is high end and he's got a 991 personally. I only know of him through the trade as he is good friends with my director but from what I've heard I'd be happy to deal with him.

Thanks very much for the information. Unfortunately the car I was interested in was sold before I could get there to have a look at it. The search continues...
