Hi everyone

Had a go in a BMW M4 and absolutely love it. Looking for a great deal but not sure if to wait until Q2. Do you think there will be any better offers on them? Is there anyone who can recommend a BMW dealer who is willing to give a descent discount?

Many thanks
I think it will be a while yet before the decent discounts start.
Q2 will probably bring a small increase in contribution but nothing significant.
I'm waiting patiently at the moment and I'm willing to wait another 6-12 months to get the right deal.
I reckon when they officially announce the M2 with proper specs and prices the bigger discounts will start, 20% off list maybe.

you can get 10-12% you just have to really hard ball them ...... there is also a lot of used approved examples hovering around 49k .... surely one of those at 45 is the smart deal ...... plus broker for cars has pcp deals around 4.7% flat ............... I just don't know if I should bin my c63 coupe for an m4 , the head says yes the heart is not sure
4,7% flat isn't very good, over 9% APR.

Quite... it never ceases to amaze me that dealers/traders still talk in flat rate terms. What a load of bks.

Seconded. It's tantamount to food sellers saying 'fat free'. Confuse the thick customer

Oracle, Lombard, Alphera will all give a better rate on pcp.

Always amusing when Alphera give better rates than BMW Financial Services (via the dealer), seeing as they are the same company hehe

Close are also doing some cheap deals at the moment, but only til the end of March.

If BMW are quoting 6-odd % in APR terms (as they usually do) then that is vastly better than 4.7% flat (assuming the finance period is 24 months or greater).

BMW are quoting 6.4% APR not 4.7% flat

So your flat rate is near 10% APR vs. BMW 6.4% APR

That's a good rate then, unless BMW decide to do a subsidised rate you won't get better than that I wouldn't have thought.

http://www.moneysavingexpert.com/banking/interest-rates

There's a reasonable illustration about two thirds of the way down that page...

Essentially flat rate interest is expressed as a percentage of the full sum borrowed, and applied annually. If you borrow £50k at 5% flat you are being charged £2.5k in interest for each year of the loan, e.g. £10k interest if borrowed over a 4 year period, despite the fact that the outstanding sum is decreasing over time.

The motor trade clings onto this ridiculously outdated and misleading notion because the interest rates quoted appear much lower, and the method by which its calculated is much easier conveyed to the [generally simple-minded] public.

very simply, flat applies that rate for the ENTIRE year despite you reducing the principal balance monthly- it's a con and should be outlawed edited to saw just like boss explained lol

I spent a good few weeks researching on forums and talking to dealers before I bought my M4. 8-10% on factory orders, 10-15% on stock cars, 10-18% on pre-reg, as a guide. This was over a month ago now so maybe they have increased.

Whats the difference in a pre reg car and a stock car? Wheres the motivation to give a bigger discount on pre reg?

stock is unused and unregistered
pre reg is just that so one owner albeit unused

the reason a dealer can offer a better deal is that they pre reg cars to hit targets and get bonus payments. Plus they own the car so get to use some depreciation as a profit offset

Hi guys
Need some advice if possible.
I can get a brand new M4 with DCT, 19" black wheels, parking package, headup display, carbon interior, comfort access and 50k service included a touch over 54k.
I've never spent so much on a car, but I've driven it and it is awesome. Do you think it is a good deal or should I just buy a second hand one when they come down a bit.
Thanks
