I suppose it depends on where you go but in my mind I would always go as early as possible.
You can then park as close as you need without having a long way to walk.
I have marshaled for the past heaven knows how long and seen the specy parks pretty full even at silly o'clock.
What he said thumbup The earlier you get there the less walking you will have to do.
its not too late to marshal either, then no worries about parking wink

I see the weather forecast for Mull is rain and very strong winds eek

I'm heading up over the weekend, I may go via "The Rest" to see if there's any shakedown action going on.

Dyfnant/Aberhirnant Fri/Sat and then Brenig Sat/Sun...

We got to Dyfnant last year just after 8pm, and although the car park was due to open at 8, there were a few spectators already parked up with fires and bbq's going. By 9-10pm the hordes had descended and it was very busy, we parked right next to the burger van and stage entrance for easy access. biggrin

This year were aiming for the same, although as we did Dyfnant last year, perhaps Aberhirnant for a change. The only issue here is the car park opens at 11pm, so pub then stage possibly.

Anyone know what the parking is like at Aberhirnant?

My advice is aim for car park opening, and then you can get as close as you want.

The rally on Mull has been stopped due to a fatality thoughts are with all involved frown

Also it sounds like a crew in the Erc crashed out due to a spectator stood in the stage, bloody ridiculous if true!

Edit: turns out it was a badly worded tweet, sounds like it was a car stopped on the stage, with spectators helping to move it.

Words can't describe the feelings on Mull today. A tragic accident.

My thoughts are with family and friends of those involved.

I'll be competing. Trying to go better than my 3rd at Snetterton, but doubt I will! I'm driving an E36 Compact.

I see Neuville is being shuffled down to the number 2 Hyundai squad for WRC GB to 'take the pressure off him' while Sordo and Paddon go for the manufacturer points.

Whether there is more to it than that remains to be seen, but he's still talking positively about being with them next year.

Hayden Paddon gets a 3 year deal at Hyundai after showing great progress through out this season! Might just put their "number 1" Neuville under even more pressure!

Kris Meeke linked with a swap with Neuville this morning. Might be a good move with Citreons lack of commitment and poor man management!

I've read speculation about that, but no real evidence to suggest Neuville is wanting to leave Hyundai before competing in the new car. 2017 is more likely to see him moving on I think.

Neuville's lack of form in the latter part of this season has been puzzling though - I've wondered if it's just that he's (even subconsciously) given up on the 2015 car/season already and is focused too much on next year. But there may be more to it than that.

Good for Paddon to have things all signed up so he can focus on the driving without any distraction of negotiating seats etc, and from his performance this year its a smart move from Hyundai too.

Paddon tops shakedown in Spain too - not that shakedown means too much but he's obviously feeling confident.

Got a free month for WRC Live, thinking this will be worth using as it'll cover both Spain and GB.
Looked at the live schedule, and only 2 live stages on WRCPlus!

How come I've been able to see pretty much all of the top cars on sections of the shakedown stage via social media, yet nothing from the official promoter!? Social media is kicking their butt when it comes to availability of live content.

I wasn't expecting full commentary or production, but couldn't they just hook up 2 live stream cameras to sections like the roundabout and or the start/finish line?
Nissan did it for Le Mans, hooked up HD Webcams and just left them run. it really can be that simple!

WRC is miles behind – even with Red Bull as promoters. They’ve done absolutely nothing revolutionary. Events with 1 or only 2 Live stages. It’s 2015, it has to be far better!!

As for WRCLive – it would have to be free; it’s not worth the price people are paying.
