What albums are you looking forward to in 2015?
Discussion
So, what are we all hoping turns out to be good in 2015?
For me, it's:
- Veruca Salt - The return thereof. Really looking forward this. The two tracks so far are just like the pre-split stuff.
- Kate Havnevik - Her new album just got fully funded on PledgeMusic a few days ago, and I'm really looking forward to it. She's great at programming microsounds. And, yes, I pledged!
- Wolf Alice. Good old fashioned, riff-driven alt rock. But will it live up to the hype? "Jam" has been rewritten as "Giant Peach" and, I hate to say it, it's not quite as a good as the version from the festival season...
and
- Marina and the Diamonds. A little bit of harmless pop fluff never does anyone any harm!

Off the top of my head,
Napalm Death - Apex Predator
Sylosis - Dormant Heart
First new Xentrix album in 20+ years (and from talking to Pete Lee from Lawnmower Deth, it's sounding mega)
First new D.A.M. album in 25+ years (heard a couple of rough demo tracks and it sounds good)
New Gama Bomb
New Lich King
Bio-Cancer's first full album
New Grim Reaper album

Another vote for The Prodigy, gotta be better than this Skrillex stuff that the kids are listening to.
Tool, please let there be a Tool album, I'll do anything.
edit - just remembered Manson has a new album out end of this month, he's released three tracks already, two are good, one is meh. Also just read that Metallica could be recording this year too.

I had Above & Beyond's and Chicane's new albums on pre-order and as big fan of both I have to say I'm a little disappointed overall. Of the two, The Sum of its Parts was by far and away the biggest letdown and felt very bland and boring. In fact I can't even really think of any of the songs even having listened through it a few times. There's none of the epic hooks that worm their way into your head like the Chicane of old and I think Bracegirdle's best is behind him sadly. A couple of the tracks are downright awful (I got so bored I skipped forward which had never been the case with any previous Chicane album).
Above & Beyond fared slightly better and although there are some wonderful tracks, We Are All We Need doesn't reach the highs that Group Therapy and Tri-State did. I'd even go as far as to say they've gone a little 'emo-trance'.
Overall I'd give A&B 7/10 and Chicane 4/10.
