I live in SE London.

Until recently I could count the number of Citroen DS5s I had seen, on the fingers of one hand, with 4 of the fingers concealed.

Yet in the past month I must have seen at least 10 of them. It's not the same one every time, and I'm not travelling any more or less than I used to.

Any reason for this, or is it just a fluke? Have Citroen done anything to kick start sales?

They look pretty stunning in the metal; one of those cars where photos don't really do it justice.

We have Citroen as one of our 5 brands. We have a special offer on a stock car but other than that there isn't anything new that I'm aware of that would have influenced a sales increase.

They are a lovely car, just need to be specced with the right engine.

In your view - what is the "right" engine?

Is the hybrid any good?

The car is too heavy for 1.6 e-hdi. Really needs a 2.0 BlueHdi. We sold one to a customer recently with the full auto and that was a VERY nice car and he's a very happy customer.

We haven't sold a Hybrid.

I managed to get us upgraded to a DS5 at Grenoble airport last year on the way to go snowboarding. Easily swallowed me, the wife, our two you daughters in car seats, two snowboards, a buggy and luggage.
Was really comfortable, nice to drive and generally floated about the place in the way a big Citroen should.
I think we had the 1.6 d. So could have done with more power, but I loved it. Caught myself turning to look at it a few times too. Visibility out of them is appalling, of course.

Interesting. I am getting tempted. There is nothing else quite like it on the market.

I sat in one a few weeks ago. The cabin quality is astonishing. Real design and workmanship, not just shiny surfaces. Possibly the best cabin I have ever sat in.

Yep, I have one now. Decent is a good description, it's not brilliant (other than the styling which I believe is bonkers in a good way) but it's a fine place to be on the motorway as it's whisper quiet and stress free. Handling is good too apart from the light steering but underpowered (160hp diesel) and rear suspension crashes and bangs on less than smooth roads.

Other than that, pretty good. And nothing has gone wrong yet...

"bonkers in a good way" sums it up for me.

Everyone else is producing normal cars, but Citroen go and make this.

I would love to have been at the design meeting where they decided to give it 3 sunroofs smile
