Been back in the UK from Canada for a couple of weeks and... man am I missing interesting cars! We've been running around in a beater Dodge Caravan (at least it's a V6!) since we arrived but I think it's time for a change.

Anyone got any suggestions? I seem to remember some of the old school sedans / saloons in the US had 3 seats in the front back back - but haven't been able to find anything. As always I'm feeling tight, so looking to spend up to about C$5,000.

Do you mean "three rows of seats"?

Not necessarily. 3 up front and 3 in back old Chevy Impala style?

A 75 Buick Electra would fit the bill, but you would never be able to open the doors in the Tesco carpark.

Every five years the cars got smaller. A mid '90s impala is, I think, 2 seats at the front but the SS is a superb car. Very comfortable and has the correct number of cylinders.

I don't recall a 12-cylinder Impala?

Thanks for the suggestions. Witha bit of looking around it turns out there are plenty of options - you just have to know what came with a front bench seat option. Impala did until just a couple of years ago although the SS with a bench seat is rarer than a rare thing... What I do look like the look of is a caddy with a northstar v8 and front bench seat for penies

Northstar was not exactly GM's finest hour - the oil that didn't leak out got burned up and cylinder head gaskets, head bolt failures and piston ring and valve stem fouling all conspire to make it a bit of a pain in the arse, I think you'll find.
