Lets keep it 9.30 start tomorrow because a few folks can't do later without risking a divorce. Will be cool have some folks from IOW another time though and we can start later.
To anyone that's left, see you bright and early on the morrow!
Damn it. I was hoping for a 1000hrs parade, three ranks, PH jerseys and sprucey clean bikes in front of the Bike Hire shop, ready for inspection. 1000hrs is so much more......

......civilised a start time than 0930hrs wink

I even went out for a practice with my new shoes and pedals tonight. I'll try to make it for 0930hrs tomorrow, but cannot promise anything. Much depends on what time I can roll my fat carcass out of bed and mainline a couple of strong coffees. Plus I need to clean and lube the chain before I ride up from Farnborough. Fingers crossed I'll see you there, but if not, have a good morning's riding all!

biggrin

IoW chaps - if you wouldn't mind showing some mainlanders some trails, I'm sure I could get a few Southamptonites to take the boat over in the summer. We always do the Randonnee, but I'd love to do some off roading as well.

Yay!

Made it. Just.

Sorry I was late, chaps. Lucky I spotted you crossing that main drag, though. Else I'd have had to ride it by myself.

Proper fun, despite spending most of the ride bringing up the rear. Hatfuls of Strava trophies, too, some all time PRs tucked in there along with a smattering of 2nds/3rds and even a 2015 KOM! (Though how that happened, I've no idea).

After a post-ride jumbo sausage in a roll, and a cup of coffee at the cafe, I decided to chuck a little more into the mix on the way home, and navigated my way to Porridgepot Hill, before wussing out and heading for home. Nice to meet you all, and next time I'll try to pull my finger out and get there in time to do the 'meet and greet' bit before the riding starts wink

The bike is washed and tucked up now, and I'm just about to head off for a bath (typing this while the water heats up rolleyes ).

Hopefully this kind of meet will happen regularly, as it was a pleasure riding with you all, and it'd be nice to meet a few more PHers.

Cheers!

Oh, I should point out, for all interested parties, that Yellowjack did manage to successfully fall off his bike while clipped into his shiny new SPDs. Sadly the GoPro had run out of battery by then.

Twice, DC, twice. But you only saw the once wink

(first time was that long, muddy drag up past the big blue pipe/temporary fencing)

For both incidents, I'm blaming my worn-out chainset and rear jockey wheels, as much as my lack of practice with the SPDs tongue out

Thanks for the ride all and for letting me follow you all, always at a discrete distance as if I couldn't keep up!

Have done bugger all for the rest of the day...heavy legs.

Looking forward the the GoPro action. Got a few PRs, seconds and thirds but a bit heavy going for PRs after the initial blue sections.

Wondered where you were before you crested the rise. Didn't realise you'd come off

Less "come off" and more "sat down while still attached to the bike".

It's certainly time for a service/parts replacement for this bike, or maybe a new bike. At least that would rule out most of my excuses... wink

Nice - so that asshat at Blue14 that gave it all the "on the right! coming through!" is "jon". He didn't seem happy when I stuck on his back wheel for the descent, and eventually was held up by him. Looking at his stats on strava hes not all that, meh.
