Going on from my last car below I went for a Peugeot 207 GTI but after a few months a car that I have wanted for a long time came up local to me and I had to say yes to it .

http://www.google.co.uk/url?sa=t&rct=j&q=&...

It is a 2005 350Z with the GT pack ( Bose , parking sensor etc ) and I have had it from last August .

Below is the progress so far

Few pic of when I picked her up

Then the first bits arrived

First up an engine flush and oil and filter change

Then was a gearbox oil change

And then on to the broken rad fan that did not work so this was Removed

Then install the new rad fans after some joining of the wires

Next was the plenum spacer changed to a H/D to let more air in

Spark plug change ( old vs new )

A quick belt change as old one was not in good nick

Then on to the last bit the K & N typhoon

This was it for a bit as I was off on holiday but after coming back did the Cree LED side lights and some molly slip for the gear box .

After a few more weeks I set about doing some more bits

New aerial

Old one

And new

Some wiper blades

Headlight adjust

And last up the Fuel sender clean with new O rings

Then when the weather was a bit better it was on to the diff oil change

The plug had some shavings and sludge on it and the oil was a darker honey colour so a change was a good plan

This was it for a few months then after saving a bit of cash I went up to Abbey Motorsport to have some Cobra HFC and a Milltek Y pipe fitted and the Uprev ( ECU re map ) done

Y pipe

HFC

Uprev with print out ( this is on a hub dyno so add another 35 to the BHP and LB/FT for the flywheel numbers )

The car started off with low ish numbers but saw some good gains in the end .

+ 19.3 BHP and + 12.9 LB/FT

Converting this in to old money ( on a rolling road and not hub dyno ) this should add 30-40 extra BHP / LB/FT and make the car around 275 BHP an 260 LB/FT

The car Is loosing power and torque with the K & N typhoon fitted as the temp was going up and the std exhaust will not help this as well so if I change this and add a V/S to the air intake we would see around another 7-10 but the extra noise of the K & N is worth the loss so this will be staying .

Was a few more nice cars out the back there as well to look at .

A few weeks went buy and the only things to be done were a good clean .

A few pic after a good wash and x 3 coats wax

After saving some more cash i went back to Abbey Motorsport for some suspension parts .

First was two new banana arms

Then a Whiteline front anti roll bar set to soft with Whiteline drop links

Then a Whiteline rear anti roll bar set to med with Whiteline drop links

That was it for now and Christmas came and a few more bits were done .

First up some CREE LED number plate lights

Then the bonnet dampers

And this brings us up to date .

Plans are brakes next then Exhaust and then well we shall see smile

Looking good! I only picked up my 350z at the end of November so I have essentially the same list of jobs as you have done to look forward to as well.

Why did you add Molyslip after changing the oil by the way, just as a precaution?

Yes just to help the gearbox out and make the shift smother .

How long did the gearbox, diff oil and aux belts take to change do you think?

Bought my Z 3 weeks ago and already had a P2 carried out but plan on doing those myself.

I sold my 350Z in a bit of a panic after we had our first child, have always regretted that.

It was like a big old sledge hammer. Unsubtle and heavy, but great fun for knocking walls down with.

Interesting, my daughter is 4 weeks old and I'm selling my 350Z. Don't think I'll regret it though, my bike is my toy now.

I keep trying to resist getting a 350Z as my next car, as it's a bit of stretch financially for me....this is not helping! smile Such a good looking car, especially in that colour. How are you finding living with the interior? Apparently it's a little dull

My one has the GT pack so has some bits inside Bose CD , Leather and stuff so its not to bad .

One thing to note is that the cars are not cheep to run and parts can be expensive .

Apart from that its the best car I have had and I have had a few nice ones smile

Regards

Alan

Welcome to owning one of the best jap coupes.Just a shame you spent money on the nissan oil/molyslip.You will possibly find in a few months that the molyslip starts to loose its effect. For half of what you have spent you could have replaced the gb oil with LiquiMolly.Changed mine around seven months ago and the box has never been better! A lot better change, much less noise, overall effect is excellent.
Enjoy your car but dont expect too much in the way of bolt on power gains, lots of money for little if any return.Induction sound? Just k&n panel filtre change would have given that.

Very nice, how are you finding grip in this weather? I've had mine, also grey (but the 313 HR), since last March. Cracking cars, very thirsty!

Did you change your bumper reflectors or did some cars come like that? Mine are the normal amber reflectors, however I often see black inserts instead.

No they are still the amber ones .

Grip is ok but the back end can step out in this weather .

The gear box oil was only done a few months past so its all still ok .

With the bolt on mods you need an uprev or you will not gain anything as the ECU will cancel out any .
