My sister and my girlfriend (2 different people I hasten to add, although I am from Lincolnshire...) are coming to the race this year but are staying in town.

Are there available taxi's from the circuit main entrance in the small hours? I believe the tram stops going back to town around midnight on the Saturday, but am happy to stand corrected.

Thanks for any info.

Trams run all night during the race (Saturday night). Just not so often in the early hours. smile

Thank you for that.

And would anyone know if taxi's are also common?

I am fairly certain that the answer is yes.

For Le Mans Classic they were definitely there to get a driver and wife to their hotel after a 1am stint. If they were not there, then I am certain that the people in the kiosk would call a rank for you they generally speak English and are happy to help.

Le Mans is a very civilised place outside the circuit.

I'd say no. From experience, it's impossible. If you google the taxi companies now you may be able to pre book (and probably have to pre pay).

There's usually a reasonable number of taxis working through the night over race weekend, with a rank opposite the main entrance of the circuit. I know because we've used them in the past to get to Arnage after waiting 30min for the 'regular' free bus at 3am. Can't see any reason they won't be there at 1am and happy to take you in to town.

That said the tram runs all night race Saturday so simpler to spectate around to Tetre Rouge/walk over the Dunlop bridge and walk through Houx campsite and get the tram from Antares.

We regularly telephone and receive taxis from a company in Arnage and it's rarely been an issue. Afraid I can't tell you their name but Google returns the following:

ABC Taxi - Arnage - +33 2 43 42 42 42
Taxis S24 - Arnage - +33 6 71 53 07 33
Radio Taxi - Le Mans - +33 2 43 24 92 92

Or you can exit on the outside of Tertre Rouge corner next to ring road bridge, turn left under the bridge and walk 100m towards town for the Guetteloup stop. (cross the tracks to go into town). smile

Thank you very much everyone. Really looking forward to showing people the Le Mans atmosphere but at some point they will want to get off Porsche Curves and head back to a bed wink

See you in June.
