Grandstands at Goodwood Festival of SPEEEEEED!

Off to gwfos for the first time.
Is it possible to watch the hill climb on the Sat/Sun without grandstand tickets?

Hi Dave,

If it's your first time you certainly won't need a grandstand. If your going for 1 day you'll probably not catch much going up the hill as there is so much to see and do. If it's 2 days I check the programme and make sure I get to see everything up the hill over the 2 days. All categories run twice over the day.

If not doing a grandstand ticket, where is the best place to view the hillclimb as a pedestrian? I was thinking of flint wall? What is access like?

The hill climb isn't that long. If you're there for a few days you'll be able to see different classes from most of it. We normally start at the bottom and work up but only go for a day each year so watch from wherever we get to if its a class that interests us. Don't forget the rally stage near the top of the hill climb has cars running all day too.

I got tickets for Christmas and am looking forward to it already. If you've not been before you are in for a treat!

Yes, there or there abouts, my favourite place is one the left hand side of the hill as you look up, at the second crossing from the top. Easy to get to from the f1 paddock, most of the crowds are on the other side of the track and you can crossover easily and head up to the rally if you want... (plus its quite a cool corner with close spectating... )

Thursday view all the trade stands and paddocks whilst they're quiet but not as many cars.
Friday, Saturday, Sunday view the hill climb and paddocks with all the cars firing up not forgetting the rally stage in the forest and at the top of the hill. Saturday and Sunday a lot of showing off only happens in fromt of the house from the drivers. Sunday make sure your by the Flint wall for the shootout.

Been going since 99 first grandstand ticket last year got a one for the Sunday spent most of the time at molecombe well worth it went all 4 days so spent other days wandering. Don't need a grandstand that's for sure love watching from in front of house but get there early

Good point, the front of house is reserved for the put your chairs out and leave your gran there to protect your space brigade.

Grandstand tickets are a 100% for me but we go for the full event and need a good place to sit and watch the action to rest and have a beer in the sun.

Doing the camping this year, cant wait
