Bert, agreed, I hate the deflectors too.....silly for road use, but no way I'd wear a lid unless on track.

It was only the very early cars that had the proper R500 chassis. I had the wiper motor mount welded onto my chassis before I built it.

Hi Mic,

Likewise, i'm having this done at the moment as it's never had them.

I even felt guilty fitting a 12v socket on mine, so much so I hid it under the dashboard rather than cutting a hole in the carbon!

If we didnt live in a country where we had sudden down pours i would have loved to have it with no screen, I'm keeping all the aero equipment anyway because i would have to try it out.

I'm going to be fitted a 12v socket also but will be hidden underneath the dash, i dont like the look of them held in the dash.

Shame as you could have just had the screen and wipers fitted and a Soft Bits half hood, this would have saved you the cost of having the roof frame fitted, a new boot cover fitting and the cost of a full roof. Saved loads of weight as well.
Very nice car you have, seen it in the showroom at Caterham.

Once you've got the welder out for the wiper motor bracket, the hood sticks brackets are pretty trivial.

When I bought the original Ring record SLR for everyday use, I also had it converted for screen and hood.

Ahh those were the days!
