True. Time flies smile

Don't know how reliable their claim is, but TRACKER did release this in 2013

Happy to say I have a life time subscription on my tracker. 4 years into ownership it's more than paid for it's self. Only time it calls me, is when the battery is running low. So I get the car out a take it for a drive. Fine device. It's also a requirement on my insurance.
Worst 'I have a Clio 1.2' post ever.

Just got told that newer BMW models with the SOS button near the vanity mirror buttons have factory installed trackers.

If you press the SOS button and they can locate you surely it works as a tracker also?

EEeer not true, if your car is nicked BMW will not tell you were it is or the police, don;t ask me why, but I know more than one person who has experienced this.

As always the criminals are one step ahead. http://www.alljammer.com/Wholesale-Discount-uhfvhf...

What bothers me more about these trackers is that they charge £200-£500 to install yet you can buy a piece of equipment to block them for £40. Racket? I think so.

Well my insurance quote for this year for my M6 GC CP new last October was £345:00 fully comp included tracker required, now if the car gets nicked and the tracker is blocked, do i care...................... NO it's covered.

If it's required by insurance then I have no issue with that. But paying £400 when it isn't required seems a bit odd once you know the facts.

Personally, I'd always be slightly concerned that the insurance company might turn around and question if you actually had the tracker installed and then refuse to pay out if they can't get a signal. Best to keep the paperwork too.

Tracker keep all the details and code numbers even if you lost it , so no problem, BUT if you drop the subs and pretend to have a tracker and it gets stolen the insurance Co will know and void your policy.
