I just thought I'd share my latest project which I've just finished.....
Supercharger project for a mx5 engined roadrunner sr2 that I've made for a friend ....it runs a treat, produces 7.5psi of boost (smaller pulley) and first indications on the rolling road are suggesting +250bhp and 280ftlbs.... just waiting to hear the final rolling road results....I'll let the photos do the talking;

And there is a couple of videos on my facebook page to like and share smile

Having previously done a similar thing (bolting a blower to an engine in an utterly DIY manner), can I compliment your work. That's a really nice job.

Can't help but think those power figures might be a tad optimistic? Could just be sour grapes mind!, my 3l Alfa V6 with 8psi only made 256bhp and 265lbft. I get it's not just about boost pressure though - flow matters and I suspect that engine flows rather better than the old 12V Alfa V6 did despite my best efforts.

Whatever the actual numbers are, that is going to be a very nice car to drive. I used a vac operated bypass as well and it makes for a very quiet and civilised setup.

Again, nice job that man. Must resist the urge to do something similar to the missus' Westfield......

Excuse my ignorance, but how does the HP inlet air get into the engine?

If the inlet plenum is on the right side and the air filter is attached to it (on the FB photos) how does the inlet air get over to the s/c on the left and back again? Is there a pipe round the back of the engine? It looks as if there are two throttles; front right original, and rear left on the new s/c inlet.

I put a C75b on a morris minor a very long time ago!

Thanks for the compliments....it's great hearing praise from like minded people who know what they are looking at the the work gone into the project.

The first rolling road result gave 213bhp and 181ftlbs at the wheels.....this was with a mild map and 5.5psi of boost throughout the Rev range.......Now working on a more aggressive map and still hoping for 250bhp.

Although the new map hasn't been run yet....a change of air filter has produced another 2psi of boost so it's now running 7.5 right the way through the Rev range.

The charger / engine setup runs twin throttle bodies.....the tb on the charger and the original tb on the engine's inlet plenum. The outlet on the charger is piped to an intercooler at the front of the car and then this feeds back to the engine tb / inlet plenum.

The ecu is 'canams'.

I will put some photos up of the finished installation next time I'm with my friend (I've built this charger for his car)....the facebook pictures where taken after i installed and ran the charger first time but before it got plumbed in properly.

Thanks for that - thought I'd missed something there!
I must say that like the others, I am impressed with the work, it looks really neat.

Is the old t/b just kept to use the TPS, and the upstream one just synched with it; or is there a more complex reason for the two t/bs?

I bet the torque figures are pretty good.

It'll be a while until I have the need for such services but definitely something I will keep in mind. I've set quite a strict budget for the initial kit build, with the intention of upgrading as I use the car so I get to appreciate every update.

Final rolling road results are in.....230bhp and 202 ftlbs.

Things have taken a little longer as the project came to a stop due to a stage 2 clutch being required.

Now that's fitted, final tuning in the rr done and all is good.

It's done about 35 miles to bed things in and it's fair to say 'smiles all round'

Im just starting out and so all the publicity, likes and shares I can get really make a massive difference!
Many thanks in anticipation smile

Excellent work and an excellent result. Any chance of a power/torque plot for us to admire? Bet that is a sweet car to drive.
