Not really clear from you photo but that's in the lambda wiring region. Does it tail off through that grommet.

Looks like a lambda sensor wire, doesn't look like it's wired up too well though.

Just comes out of the injector loom (or that area) and disappears through that grommet! It's not broken but I'm pretty sure it should be routed a bit better than just sitting on top of the cam cover!

Pretty sure the lamda cabling on mine is neatly folded and cable tied to the metal coolant pipe that wraps the front of the head.

Lambda wiring :-

Must have been re-wired at some point as you have no connectors,

Cool thanks, will get on it soon, I'm really keen to tidy the engine bay up as the rest of the car is really quite tidy.

Mind if I ask - who on here makes the carbon HT cover (have seen threads but can't find them at all now!) and also is there one type of heat shielding that is much better to use than anything else? As you can tell I need to tidy mine up.

Give Nimbus motorsport a call they carry a wide variety of top quality heat shield materials, and aren't afraid of giving a sample or two.

My carbon cam cover insert came from the person mentioned in this Topic , I don't know if he still makes them.

Turns out it is indeed the lambda sensor wire, and it does have a plug but the plug had been put below the rubber grommet, hence the wire being too short to run around the front of the engine. I'll be re-locating it with the plug exposed and the route around the water pipe properly.

First I'll be removing the water pipe and having it powder coated as the paint is flaking and getting rusty, also is there a proper grommet to use or shall I just try to find a generic blanking one the right size and make a hole for the cables?

I'd bin that pipe if I were you and get the stainless item from ACT. The interior is likely to be corroded.

I did look but couldn't find a replacement item, but didn't try ACT. Thanks again

edit: £90 for a piece of 15mm stainless pipe is bordering on extortion, I'd expect it from a Lambo not a TVR part. Given I just spent £82 on a specially ordered 5 metre length of 5" x 2" aluminium extruded box section for work I don't think I can bring myself to buy one!
