12C seems to me as a much better NSX 2.0 car

Well it was basically a toned down 348, really. It would have been better proportioned with a shorter rear overhang but the Yanks wanted a big boot for golf clubs! The last prototype had pert rear, which looked far nicer.

In my eyes, the facelift car was better resolved and the NSX-R the pinnacle. It was elegant, purposeful and unfussy. You are looking at £200k for one though.
Not as elegant with a short tail.
I think you are in the minority regarding the face lift, the pop up is much better loved in retrospect.

It will be assembled to Honda's usual quality, or probably higher, so I don't see that as an issue. It is just reflective of the biggest market Honda expect for it I presume on the same basis of BMW and Mercedes making SUVs there.

yes

Pop-ups is a cleaner look and less likely to date.

Beg to differ... I used to think popups were cool, but the thing that did it for me with the NSX was seeing the blue facelift press car...

I think the facelift looks so much more modern, and the popup will be the look that dates...

"Dated" is over used, and not important, all cars look of their era, a Ferrari GTO looks of its era, as does a Countach or 930 Porsche, a car does not need to look like it has been made today to look good, in fact mostly quite the opposite is true.

Just seen it a Geneva. Love it. Makes the new R8 look very conservative and boring. 10/10 from me.

P.S. There's an original NSX on display in Halle 7 providing a bit of glamour amongst all the tyre fitting machines and trolley jacks.

Some nice pics of it on http://www.nineteen80one.com/geneva-international-... along with a few other show stars...

if they could sort out the chrome gash across its face, then it would certainly look a bit neater...

It's certainly interesting, do we have confirmation of the finalised prices for the UK? Some are saying it'll be £130k, others in the £100k region. Having heard the V6 in action it doesn't sound that impressive to my ears but it should be fast. I'll be personally waiting to see what they do with the Type-s and Type-R variants! biggrin

Quite funny that, despite the reverence in which the original is held, the new car faces the same issue - who's going to drop £130k on a Honda?
I suppose it should be easier this time round.

^^ Exactly. UK prices still unconfirmed, but US prices are "from $150,000" IIRC what they said at Detroit. Given that the car is being made in the US, you can bet $150k US will not equate to £100k landed and on the road in the UK - wouldn't be surprised if it isn't more like £150k...

And Honda UK and its dealers haven't exactly covered themselves in glory with the new car already; very little proactive engagement with existing NSX owners, it seems. Unless this thing knocks the competition (and that means Macca 570s, R8, 911T, AMG GT etc) out of the park, it's going to remain a niche choice...

My exact thoughts from 2 years ago when it was announced. I fear it will follow its predecessor in ways that Honda don't want it too...

Plus the original was only really going into battle with the 348,964 and the Vette

Now you have >>991,GTR,R8,Huracan,488,560<->650,V12 Vantage, AMG GT, Vette, Viper, New GT40...possible new TVR ..possible new Supra...there are a lot of cars to dismiss before choosing an NSX
