My list would be...
  • The state of the engine would be the major one. If it has not run much, then it might not be in an overly happy condition.
  • State of the interior - has it been stored well, not cracked/bleached etc.
  • Tyres (probably need changing)
  • State of chassis - probably not an issue though assuming it has been stored well
The engine would be my major concern.

I don't know the car or the person who owns it, but if it's the persons whose car I think it is from what I've heard of him it'll be mint.

Thanks Alex, I would get the engine checked out prior to purchase

I was going to add that rubber hoses, pipes, belts etc should be checked for perishing, but looking at the ad:

"...acquired three years ago by the current owner with just 1,900 miles recorded. At that time the car was fully recomissioned and has since been fully serviced again despite only having covered nominal mileage."

So it has done a few thousand miles in the last few years and you could enquire about being "fully decommissioned", but hopefully that would have caught anything that needed attention.

Have seen the car and know the owner.
You will not find a better one. Don't let the mileage put you off, it will have a full and detailed provenance file.

If i had the funds i'd be up there in a flash. I think it's a PHers car and there was a couple of threads about it at the time. I agree that the low mileage isn't necessarily a good thing but knowing HHC, if they say it was recommissioned fully then it would have had a thorough going over.

Lovely colour in the flesh too. I'm proper sad it's out of my budget cry

If it's the one up for £60,000 it belongs to TVRM on here, I was planning to go and see it at the end of the month, be interested to hear what you think of it.

Seconded, you are correct about the owner, and HHC will provide excellent service.

I have seen it in the flesh. It is sparkling. It's undercrackers are as clean as VarleyHyd's Sag.

The highland green paint job is very nice.

I would, as would a few of the TVR lads up here in Scotland who have also seen it, but I am more a Tuscan man myself. Tuscan's are quicker than Sags too ;O)

From memory, the Tuscan S will be slightly quicker, but the Sag has much
better poise and control.

I'll leave others to comment on the fact of this, but that was my understanding.

Power was never a concern of mine - I just upgrade the engine if I want that
and put in better air control.

As I was told the exhaust set up in the Sag is more restrictive than that of the Tuscan. I will grant you that the wider track and different pick up points on the Sag make it a better handling car. However I would also counter that by saying that a good set of shocks and a proper geometry set up will make the Tuscan handle wonderfully.

I did a bit of work on the suspension last year, and with support from Str8six, I now have a great handling Tuscan.

None of this should detract from the Sag that HHC has for sale. I have seen it and it looks 'Guy Martin' ("C0ck on, son!"). If you go for it you will not be disappointed, I am sure.

Hi Oliver i saw your sag up for sale, she looks in great condition and i'm envious of how tidy your engine bay is!
Got to be one of the best ones on the market but then i might be a bit bias smile
