Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner, Supper - in that order.

You dress for dinner, not necessarily for lunch.
Then why was I thrown out of Maccy D's and arrested earlier today?

On that basis it appears Wildcat was inadequately attired for dinner. Bad form.

Supper is the evening meal, eaten informally, at any time. Dinner is where you get dressed up and eat more grandly.
But I did dress for the meal. Not shown in the picture. Nothing special just a nice lounge suit. I was on Teesside after all

Yesterday I was more than a bit council.

The nearest shop that was open at 10.30am and sold hash browns and mushrooms (for mrs' and daughter's breakfast)was Iceland.

Later in the day we were shopping in the 99p Store followed by Poundland.

Still feeling full from our Iceland breakfast we decided not to cook a big roast and got a takeaway from McDonalds.... but not before buying Vienetta and The Sun from a convenience store.

I'm gonna put a good shift in at work today to make up for it.
Congratulations, and jubilations. What a day!

As for the 99p and poundland, I rarely shop anywhere else these days. If you are selective you can get all your needs for a song. (Poundland now do milk and bread.) First stop on my morning itinerary.

One aberation though, The Sun is not now considered council. Most councillors now read, well look at the pictures, the Guardian.

Council grub , council car , all covered laugh .
You missed the Daag just in shot too. The poor car has cascaded down the social scale in the few days since it left the factory. Actually, it was made in Liverpool so it is a council car by default.

MacW you are indeed correct! Here's your voucher.
I appreciate the offer, but I reckon you're better off putting it towards BUPA membership to cover your first heart attack biglaugh

You will need to describe BUBA to council, they think it is a posh fart.

Hospitals are for nicking stuff from and sobering up in on a Saturday night

Living abroad, I had no idea what a "parmo" was, so looked it up. Seems there are enough calories in it - without the chips. I think penance and 1000 hail Mary's are in order personally. But don't pinch the church silver please.

The Runswick Bay Hotel Pub does an awesome Chicken Parmo Hotshot. They do also serve Wold Top Beers, so they give councilness with one hand, and take it away with the other.

It is, but very much a North England thing, so council by default.

I know, unfortunately it's become popular to speak like they do in the Shires. frown

Tea is the one that really confuses me. Tea is what you have at 2pm with a scone. It is most certainly NOT a meal!

Then you go north of The Wall, up in our bleak households of the frozen north (aberdeenshire) it gets even more confusing, where, Supper, Dinner and Tea can be interchangeable between areas, and what with my darling Fiancée coming from Posh Liverpool (formby), it gets worse with their own take on what constitutes correct parlance for late elevenses.

Not possible, Liverpool = Council
Thinking it might be possible = Council

As for "School Dinners".....go to a better school not a council one.

Shift work, council.
It was a figure of speech to make me sound more hard working than I really am. It sounded better than "an honest day's work".

Apart from the fact I don't like hash browns, that seems like a brilliant council day you had. I'm jealous. The council have far far more fun than the rest of us.

I'm going to call my daughter Vienetta - if I have a daughter.
It was a good day. Everything was cheaper and quicker than usual. I almost felt the urge to waste money on fags... even though I don't smoke.
