Can anyone recommend an electronic heater control valve to use instead of the standard factory supplied cable operated valve? (UK based)

Is this what most have used instead of the cable operated version?

See the thread on handbrake by Abbosevolution for the option for the Autobionics heater controls.

It's a Vintage Air part... either AB can supply or an internet search will throw up other suppliers, if AB don't have any in stock.

Are these any better at stopping hot water making its way into the heater when the valve is meant to be fully closed?

I would go with the 4 port valve offered by oldairproducts and install it in the engine bay. This way the hot coolant won't reach the side pod and radiate heat when you don't want or need the heat. I installed the 4 port manual cable control valve from oldairproducts and it works great. Note: with the LS engine you need continuous coolant flow as well, so when the value is off the coolant is returned.

Perfect. Looks like they have an electronic 4 port valve which I think is ideal.

Also, good call on fitting in the engine bay to reduce cabin heat.

Does anyone know of any suppliers in the Florida area as I'll be out there in April?
