Let's all hope so but we'll all need to remember to stay on the right side of the law which has changed w.e.f. 01 Jan for those that don't already know about it... (or at least avoid getting caught!)

http://www.asphalte.ch/news/2014/12/best-of-2014-t...

e.g. Any resident caught in excess of 140km/h (87.5mph) on a national road e.g. the 80km/h (50mph) limit could be looking at a minimum of one year's muesli (porridge)[up to 4!] and possibly confiscation of the vehicle. Not sure how this would impact tourists...

The new law also has an impact on insurance contracts and in certain circumstances, there is a new obligation on insurance companies to recover (some of?) the costs of settling a claim from the responsible party thereby reducing the cost to the insurance company on the 'polluter' pays principle.

Not not sure if this means that the cost of insurance generally to us drivers will be reduced proportionately or not. Possibly more likely with some firms that others as there is a existing mechanism in place whereby some firms offer periodic refunds as and when they declare excess profits.

At least petrol is down to under CHF1.50/L (for 95) and should fall again tomorrow as the SNB has abandoned the CHF1.20/EUR1 cap this morning!
