Driving to Prague in late June - Any tips...

I'm planning on a 6-7 day road trip to Prague, setting off on June 27th and being back in London on the evening of July 3rd. I've got to be in Prague for June 30th. Just for a day and night to watch the Euro U21 final - a post GCSE treat for my eldest son who is going to be my travelling companion.
Any tips for stopover points travelling to Prague or special roads on the route back?
Any things to avoid or places to avoid?
Obviously parking overnight will be a big point to consider when making hotel bookings.
Other than that the continent is ours to enjoy...guidance, views, tips welcome!

Why leave the Aston at home? Of course there will be the risk of the road hijackers that are somewhat prevalent in Spain. Not heard anything specific about Czech. Is there a problem there?Overnight secure parking is definitely in the schedule.
For some of the countries you will be driving through you will need a Hi-Vis Jacket for driver and passenger INSIDE the car (not in the boot).
Don't forget to have your documents with you (V5 and Insurance as well as License)
Be wary of sudden and major changes to speed limits especially around Czech borders and into towns which is often where mobile speed cameras are deployed with a preference to the foreign cars.
Otherwise I would not anticipate any major issues. If you cut across from Nuremberg or Regensburg you will go through some pretty and typical German villages (cobbles as well) and some glorious countryside. Once in Czech much the same for a while. Beware level crossings with no barriers and a vast difference in speed of vehicles (so watch closing speeds etc.)

Nuremberg does seem to appear on the route and want to definitely go through the countryside in Germany. Potentially aiming to get there abouts, unless there is a reason to detour on the outbound London to Germany leg, on the first day. Pretty villages sounds like just the ticket to me, so will look up that area.
Day two would be the drive into Prague. I could take three days to get to Prague if there were points of interest. I'm quite tempted to detour via Stuttgart and pop into the Porker museum at some point (will take a look at opening times and access etc).
I will have the AA 5 star coverage as well - or whatever it's called nowadays in the event of breakdown.

This was a trip I had planned to do, however since the diagnosis of my illness not something I can do yet, hopefully later on if I can get travel insurance.
The purpose of the post was to give a heads up to the fact one of the guys in area 7 lives in Prague. so if you are around on a meeting night as he is often there on the Thursday club night.If you are not able to get to the club night I can contact him and hopefully you can the get the information direct.
I believe you have my number from the trip we did. Sounds a great trip not too different to my own plan.

Sunday Day 2 - Short one hour drive to Porsche factory for a visit to the museum and hopefully factory tour - will check.
Drive on to Nuremberg for the overnight stay.
Monday Day 3 - Tour around Nuremberg. Short drive and arrive in Prague or thereabouts. Thanks to Terence for the top hotel tip. And...relax.
