Saw this today. How very disappointing in the flesh. Looks like its trying too hard. IMO it looks like an old car that has been modded to look new.

Maybe it looks better in a different colour.

What do you think?

I think the complete opposite to you and applaud BMW for launching a new car with concept car looks and technology.

It is very colour sensitive though and I only really like it in blue.

I had one on loan. It was sensational in every way.

Absolutely!! So far I have seen a white one , a blue one and a black one. The blue is STUNNING and suits the car so well.

Hats off to BMW, it's not quite a 8 series replacement that some would like but it's very very appealing.

Since someone on PH said that they look like they are crapping a 911 it's all I see now. Before that I thought they were quite nice.

I think it's even better in the flesh (metal). It's a real head-turner.

I don't think that's the best colour. I saw one in blue and thought it looked fantastic.

Black/dark grey isn't the best look for it. Part of the design is the contrast of the panels and the black parts of the body, you lose that when its dark on dark, and its harder to see the shape.

Just look at that bonnet 'vent'. Sorry but that is just ugly and looks like a portable toilet!

Don't hate me, but I like it. I'm sure it will have been wind tunnel optimized to within an inch of its life but somehow they've managed to give the impression of sharp edges.

When I was a child in the 1980s this was what future cars were supposed to look like smile

I saw my first one yesterday in a showroom and was blown away. Not my sort of car but incredible design. Looked like something from the future. Not the past.

Had the chance to look over one in detail a few months ago, my grandson loved the gullwing doors (salesman insisted they were swanwing), in the flesh and the right colours it has a definite sense of presence, the interior is a very pleasant place to be.

As others as said, it looks much, much better in blue. Seen one in the flesh a few times cloud9

Looking forward to seeing one of these but I'm not sure those photos really do it justice. Actually, I've been invited to a VIP event at my local dealer which is being held this weekend. I wonder if they'd be able to do me a 'very special' deal on one. wink

I actually saw one on the A34 yesterday much to the amusement of the people in the front of the Land Rover that I was a passenger. I was like a 12 year old leaning excitedly through the middle of the seats and pointing at the car whilst reeling off a load of clearly useless stats. Oh well!

PS.I thought it looked ace.

Looks are subjective. I saw one in Munich last May, crawling along slowly in traffic, thus enabling me to walk alongside for quite some time. Loved it.

I was looking at the one in Coopers Tunbridge Well and I thought it was stunning although the kerb rash on the rear LH alloy wheel was unexpected !

I think the wheels let it down unfortunately.
