Hi

Anyone fitted a sight glass to the expansion tank to add coolant level checking?

Cheers

Hi,
Yes, I've got one fitted to my T350C. Had it done at Track V Road. It makes checking the coolant level really easy, no messing about with wooden spoons etc. In addition, I understand it is self bleeding, so another problem solved.
HTH.

My view, if you have expansion bottle I wouldn't bother. If you don't either expansion or get this smile

I was thinking about having a sight glass welded to my existing expansion bottle at the correct coolant level
Any views on this?

Cheers

I can't see any issues in looking in the expansion bottle. Welding in a sight glass to the expansion seems overkill. I can see those who have no expansion looking at the TvR option, which works well, looks great (bling factor), but not a massive improvement over the standard expansion in terms of the end result, which is a well running performing car.

I bought the system for my Power 4.3i from TvR August last ....It's doddle to fit and has balanced my water temp and usually sits around 90*c and occasionally gets up to 96*c on very hot days.

I had the TvR system on my old T350T.... Was so impressed that I had it fitted on to the Sagaris too before I even collected the car.

The sight glass is great and useful for the visual check, but the bleeds provide peace of mind for me personally.

Plus.... It all looks great imho
