Hi all,

I've got a couple more questions?

What's the best chain to buy for my pr6. I've Knackered 2 in 2 meetings. It could be my driving but what brand/type chain are others using?

Where's the best place to but tyres. I'm not fussed on dunlops or Avons. But what's the equivalent avon compound to the standard radical slick. And what would maybe be a good compound a litter softer in both avon and dunlop. I'm assuming the standard radical slicks are radials?

And the last thing is I've seen somewhere that merlin Motorsport do extended rose joints for reducing camber. But I can't see them on the website. Does anyone have a link or info.

Thanks

Chains don't just Knacker themselves, many possibilities
1) not tensioned correctly
2) not aligned correctly both spacially and direction.
3) something is moving, possibly an engine or diff mount or even a cracked chassis
4) worn sprockets wouldn't help.
5) you may be using really cheap and nasty chains, but don't expect that to be the case.

As for best chains or tyres, totally depends on what type of events you are doing.

We did have play in the diff but have sorted that. The chains have stretched trying to warm the rear tyres going to the start line.

As for the tyres I'll be doing Bikesports races and roc races. So 15 minutes qualifying and 20 minute races.

Cheers.

Buy our 'did zvmx' chains from motorcycle road and race.

Last for ages.

May or may not be of relevance in this instance, but I know of at least two PR6s that had 'likes eating chain and sprocket' problems that were eventually resolved: Mark Abbot's & Will Brown's.

More than happy to chat through those with you Phil and give you a few tips that I think help minimize any issues.

Will PM you.

well, out of 4 cars, only one was always lunching itself... all the others were perfect, and that was using the highest UTS chains we could get our hands on. We never got to the bottom of it either, so maybe the future owner got it sorted out. I quite fancy another PR6 thinking about it smile
