2015 road trips
Discussion
Looking forward to the 2 road trips I have booked for this year. The first trip is in the Mustang to Laon for the Historique weekend in late May. The second trip is to Lake Garda in the 147 GTA. The plan is overnight stops at Reims and Lake Geneva. Not yet decided the return route but will probably be via the Black Forest.
Two very different trips but looking forward to them both.

8 day roadtrip to the Mille Miglia. Leaving on saterday 8 May to Porsche Days Francorchamp. Then through Luxumbourg, France, Germany to Austria. Next day through Liechtenstein, Switserland and Italy to the Dolomites.
1 day driving in the Dolomites and on to Lake Garda. One day of relaxing driving around the lake.
Seeing the start of the Mille Miglia on Thursday and two days of driving home.
Can't wait.

The old man and I are taking his V8V to the Rechberg Hillclimb in Austria. We're catching some awesome sights on the way there and calling in for quali day of the WEC at Spa on the way back. Any recommendations for great roads in northern Austria much appreciated!
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/HahntennjochI've got 3 planned so far this year, hoping to make it 4 but it depends on work (I want to take a Jeep to Utah to explore Moab etc). All leaving from Ohio:
1. Next month I'm off down to Tennessee with the Mrs for a nice weekend away at a cabin in the mountains. Tons of beautiful scenery on the way down courtesy of the Appalachians and Smokeys there so very much looking forward to it.
2. The big one: Ohio to Seattle via colorado, then a week of bimbling down the coast ending up in SoCal, before heading back up to Vegas, back to Colorado then home to Ohio. Circa 6500 miles minimum, probably well over 7000 once some exploring is done.
3. All the way down to Miami, then after a weekend of RnR with wifey, a run across to Baton Rouge for a quick training course and back up to Ohio.

West coast of Scotland in my MR2 in April.
Hopefully North Devon/Exmoor in June/July
Scotland in a yet to be purchased fun, yet sensible car in August to tie in with my brother's wedding.
San Francisco/Los Angelese/Las Vegas roadtrip for my honeymoon in September.
It is going to be a good year!

Interesting. Looks like you're staying in Spain both ways. Any reason not to do the French side one way?Zed 44 said:

Just the one planned so far this year
Picking up a new GT3 from the Porsche factory in Leipzig (and hopefully taking a 918 round the track as well) After a few runs on the Autobahns to break her in, head towards Nice. The fact it will be the beginning of March precludes the use of a great deal of the roads in the Alps, but I’m hoping for Route Napoleon, Rhone Valley and Mont Ventoux for a bit of a play

Presumably a non-UK order. Enjoy the drive.
