Any tips of other things to while there? Good dining, great roads etc? Thanks in advance jezza
No specific recommendations, but I don't think you can go too wrong heading into the Malvern hills, both for driving and dining. My top tip would be to ask the folks at the factory for recommendations: most of them are locals. If nothing else ask them for their test drive route.
I've not done much exploring when I've visited; I did have a good meal at a pub with fantastic views up in the hills, but I couldn't tell you a name or where it was. It was a recommendation from the factory though.

Unless there's a cancellation in the book unfortunately I won't be hiring a moggy for the day so exploring the Malvern hills in the mazda will have to suffice

Hello all.
My daily commute is changing, from 16 miles of A and B roads, to 50 miles of motorway. I'm currently running an Alpina B5, which is by several streets the most competent crusher of cross-country journeys I have ever driven, but when I think about the effect of 100 miles per day on its value, and my petrol budget, I wonder if there is a better solution.
I am leaning towards the A8 / 7 series / S Class / Phaeton group, at a £15k-ish level. Does anyone have comparitive experience of these, or others I should be considering? Is there any realistic difference in operating costs between them?
All help, advice, and general musings welcome. Thanks.

Sales brochure stuff
own opinion stuffThat the M1 version is called the M88/1 and the M5/M635 the M88/3 also suggests, to me at least, that one is the evolution of the other.
Well it fits in the parking space!!!
picture removed - too much information!
The journey home was pretty rubbish - I picked the car up from near Reading and drove back to East London - I considered M25/north circular, but chose to go through the centre of town. Big mistake. Took around 40 minutes to get through Knightsbridge, and 2.5 hours for the whole journey.
I can report that stuck in traffic (a) it doesn't overheat, and (b) it's just a dull 1980s car.
On the open road, though, it is awesome - the feedback through the steering is "proper". And I love the way it handles - I've no idea if this car has clever diffs or anything but you can feel the power get pushed to the back wheels and it just adopts a completely neutral cornering style. on the way into the corner, it feels like it might understeer but it doesn't; mid-corner, it feels like it might snap into oversteer, but it doesn't.
Clever car.
