Short (1 mile) tow in Romsey - any takers?

Bit of a long shot but my car broke down yesterday and was taken by the AA to the nearest garage (which also happens to be exactly a mile drive away from my house in Romsey!).

The garage have looked at it and said it needs a large amount spent, more than the car's worth, so I'd like to get the car towed back to my house where my FIL, a mechanic, can help work on it.

Don't know anyone with a tow bar sadly - am I wrong in thinking that it would be blinking expensive to get a tow company to do it? Therefore wondered if anyone was able to help a fellow PHer in need and be able to tow me up a hill one evening this week? I'd be happy to pay for it as sure it'll be cheaper than getting a towtruck

I'm sure it could be managed. Do you have access to a trailer? I have a Disco that will pull anything, just lacking the trailer to do so

Thanks for the offer but a friend of a friend has just pitched up to help but thank you very much, peeps on PH are a good bunch!

I Would not put Lou in the "a good bunch" category, he once plied me with drink touched me inappropriately and then blamed it on aliens.........

It was a fantastic night, Robin is just upset I didn't go back for more!
