I see the TVR car club have an offer for the Classic and I was thinking of going this year.

There is talk on the classic web site of parade laps. Does anyone know, have there been TVR parade laps previously and if so are they on all days ?

thanks

Not seen a TVR parade lap but tbh when i saw the Aston's in 2013 and 911's last year doing their parade at 10mph and the amount of time they spent in the holding area prior to going on track i wouldn't bother, just my opinion. The LMC laps however were great fun and i would certainly recommend adding them to your bucket list if you haven't done them already.

I did wonder whether it was worthwhile, especially given as I race a single seater round there from time to time. 10mph in a hot TVR does not appeal.

I did manage laps at LMC last year, shame about the weather but hopefully next time will be better.

There were parade laps for the TVRCC at the Classic in 2012. We had to wait in our cars for over an hour, and when we got on track I think I got into 3rd once. And we missed a couple of races and the parade of around 50 F40s... I wouldn't bother again.

Oliver.

I went for the E Type anniversary, it was a farce, what a waste of my time and £ hard earned, never again.

The parades are definitely better viewed from the outside, but I guess someone has to drive the cars....

The Classic is a good event though, usually a large club turnout (from loads of clubs) and great fields of race cars- not up to the Revival or the old Coys-sponsored Silverstone events of many years ago but a great weekend nonetheless.

Silverstone Classic is a wonderful event & should be on your list for the year.

We did the parade laps a couple of years ago & although I enjoyed it there was a lot of hanging around involved.

Looking forward to the 'parade laps' at Spa Classic in May, now that should be fun!
