Chalon sur Saone or Beaune?

Looking for a place for the final stop of our Euro trip and have now narrowed it down to these 2. Would like a nice hotel with parking and a decent restaurant/bar within walking distance.
Any thoughts?

I've been to both, and they are great places to stay - I personally would stop in Beaune though, as I prefer the feel of the place.

Beaune. Stayed there twice. Lovely town with a good choice of hotels with parking and some great restaurants.

Both nice places Beaune would be my choice. Smaller and more manageable after a long day on the road.
Terrific square @ Chalon full of restaurants though and if you were doing a couple of nights Chalon has more to offer.

Agree with the above. We stayed in Dijon but did a day trip down to Beaune - beautiful little town - the food was excellent as was the wine tasting !

Friends of ours went touring for their honeymoon and stopped for their first night in Beaune. I may have sniggered inappropriately.
