Hi All,

I had just started to plan the Mega-Florida holiday with the wife and kids but it looks like the budget has to change drastically. My current work contract may not get renewed so I have decided to go for a cheap and cheerful AI holiday to one of the following:

Sharm
Tunisia
Turkey
Marrakesh

The budget is capped at £600 each so a total of £2400 for the family, in the middle of school summer holidays but I have the following questions:

Where is best for the AI experience?
Are the outdoor swimming pools going to be warm?

Hi Iceboy,

I asked about AI Sharm on a recent thread, probably on the previous page. I'm booked to go on Saturday for a week, so I'll be able to tell you about The Grand Hotel on my return. This is my first AI holiday and I'm "managing" my expectations whilst hoping for the best. I been to Egypt a few times. The pool will be cooler than the sea but plenty warm enough in the school holidays.

I have done a package AI to Sharm (First Choice Holiday Village) and another where I booked flights and hotel separate (Radisson Blu Sharm) Both were excellent, but the pools at the Radisson were breathtakingly cold.
Selection of food and drink were very good at both, facilities at the holiday village were as expected family oriented, we had the grandkids with us so that was good, the Radisson was just for my wife and I so lack of kids club etc was good.

Both were later in September and the sea temperature was very pleasant, though the sea state prevented us snorkeling very much the second time we were there, which was a pity as we both enjoy that.

I haven't been to the other locations but for an AI I can recommend Sharm, the downside is that you could be anywhere, but we did Cairo in the way down so got the Egyptian experience there, wife also got Pharoah's revenge both times as did others.
