Hi everyone, I am a piston heads virgin so please be gentle. I'm an ex RAF aircraft engineer and with the help of a small team of likeminded ex and serving members of the RAF are looking at starting a jet powered car. Crazy I know but it's got to be worth a try. We as a team look after ex RAF jets at Bruntingthorpe in leciester.
What we are looking for is a donation of an old rolling kit car chassis or a company who is willing to part with some well earned money and fabricate us a chassis to fit our Rolls Royce viper gas turbine engine.
Twice a year Bruntingthorpe have a jet open day and we thrash our jets up the 2.5 mile runway for all the crowds to see. We are planning to do the same with our jet car, this could be a good opportunity for some advertising as I'm sure this will turn a few heads. Please get in touch if you're interested in helping this fine bunch of RAF engineers.

You need to check out Nick in the Zonda replica thread - his engine isn't running right, I'm sure he'll be happy for you to put your jet engine in it.

Mind, it wouldn't be as fast. wink

How about you part with your hard-earned jet turbine engine and I'll put it in my frame?

Because of the size of the engine and all the ancillaries needed to run it you'll be better off with a bespoke build.
Build the chassis around the engine

What about this https://www.facebook.com/cobrabyo

Build your own chassis from a collection of laser cut tubes jigsaw style just need welding together. Runs on Jaguar running gear.
