Lamborghini Miura S: Time For Tea?

The story behind one of Jay Leno's two Lamborghini Miuras...

Yesterday's presentation for the Huracan GT3 was a fascinating affair. Obviously every member of Lamborghini staff was impeccably turned out, the car was very loud in every sense and lunch was fabulous.

But the highlight was the museum. Easily. From Espada to Estoque, there are all the Lamborghinis you know and a couple you may not on two floors. There's even an LM002. Despite so many other distractions though it were the Miuras (an SV and P400) still drawing the most attention. It's just such a pretty shape, so small and delicate in the 21st century that you can't help but stare.

So while it was tempting to feature a Diablo or a Countach or a Murcielago this afternoon, the Miura had to star. This video is of Jay Leno's '69 S (see the episode on his free P400 here) and it's really enjoyable actually. There's a detailed walk around the car, an explanation of its history and a little drive section too. That V12 will surely go down as a one of the great road car engines.

Get the kettle on and indulge a little supercar dreaming for a while. And if your 2015 resolutions are already broken, make a new one that can be kept: go to Bologna and visit the Lamborghini museum.

Watch the video here.

Visit the Ferruccio Lamborghini Museum too. Much more personal and you can see his Miura there.

So what was the car worth in the 80's when it was given to Jay?

If anyone had a miura with a blown engine thiey would like to give me feel free to get in contact. As a scam it wiuld probably be more likely to work than the Nigerian bank account!

I'm surprised it took so long to be spotted! Apologies for that, reading what you want to see rather than what is actually written. Duh. I blame Miura infatuation...

Cheers!

Imagine if the 80's/90's classic car booms never happened.

Old cars would be just that, old.

Ok, many of them would not exist now,as the industy to support them wouldn't have been invented.

But it would all be worthwhile if I could afford my own muira biggrin

Oh yeah,if petrol was cheap too,so I could afford to use it.
