Could be a cheaper Le Mans this year
£1 = Euro 1.30 at the moment and getting better every, could we hit £1 - Euro 1.50 before June?
And petrol at 90p a litre.

Lets hope so, the beers were getting very expensive there for a few years!

Surely it's a zero sum game - beer consumption will increase to compensate!?

As an example,95 unleaded is currently 92p per Litre at Leclerc supermarkets around here. That's with the current exchange rate of 1.335 Euro's to the Pound.

I was speaking to our FX desk Thursday, as long as we don't see interest rates rise, not likely before June, there's a chance of further sterling strengthening..

Hurrah! More beers!

We've got the general election in May, so with a bit of luck that may go in our favour too. Agree interest rate should remain as is.

It is surprising the difference in exchange rates from different company's, especially when getting a large sum. I use fairfx.com and get a good rate from there when using cash and I also have a Euro mastercard through them so when the rate is good just top it up and that way you do not get any transaction fees like you would with your normal card.

I made the Belgium-->London trip two weeks ago, and was not impressed with the devaluation of the Euro and the negative effect it had on my budget! So congrats to you UK-based guys for having it the other way around!

For every winner, sadly there has to be a loser.

I'm sure you weren't complaining about 5 years ago!
