So who has ordered the new S550 Mustang?

"Enjoy the hushed, refined ambience of the Mondeo’s cabin. Superior materials are used throughout and a range of interior options enables you to further personalise your experience. Rear passengers can also sit back and enjoy generous legroom, headroom and elbow room."
Don't think that describes the Mustang at all.

I think you might be right. "Enjoy the hushed, refined ambience of the Mondeo’s cabin. Superior materials are used throughout and a range of interior options enables you to further personalise your experience. Rear passengers can also sit back and enjoy generous legroom, headroom and elbow room."

So, given it is now September, according to the "allow 12 weeks for delivery" rule which is circulating the theory is that any cars which are to be delivered before Christmas must be built and sent on their way from Flat rock this month.
Does anyone who isn't a UCL 'winner' or early deposit payer (pre Jan price announcement) have a VIN / confirmed Build date from their dealer yet?

Yes I have a VIN - got it about a week ago (ordered mid-Jan). I have a build date of 14th Sept, but as I've mentioned before I think this is a generic build date for all early 2015, non-UCL orders - it's more like week beginning 14th than exactly the 14th ..... I have a feeling the actual build date will probably slip though. I reckon it'll be after Christmas (if I'm lucky) before I actually see the car Does anyone who isn't a UCL 'winner' or early deposit payer (pre Jan price announcement) have a VIN / confirmed Build date from their dealer yet?

Cool thanks, sounds fairly promising that the bulk of us may see VINs soon, although you have the right idea and I'm trying my best to reset my expectation clock to Jan/Feb delivery.Broda said:
Any suggestions on mine, ordered July, GT FASTBACK I'm assuming March next year ish?
Unfortunately thats at the very earliest i'd say.... the first orders from this year (placed Jan / Feb) are looking like they might not make it here to Jan...Here's hoping they get a wriggle on soon.

My order is not UCL. I placed my order on 22/01/2015 and since last week the Vista screen for my order has updated with a VIN and Est. Prod Date: 14-SEP-2015 and ETA to Dealer WE: 28-NOV-2015. There is basic info about the car on ETIS and no window sticker. I consider all information as not reliable.Actual said:

Yes, same here - no window sticker yet. Apparently they are supposed to appear around 2 weeks before the car gets built so from that I'm assuming my guess about the 14th being more like a 'week beginning' build estimate is probably correct (or perhaps the date could just mean 'anytime after the 14th'!). Using the 'week beginning' logic the latest I should get a window sticker is by the end of this week - but that is very much guesswork on my part so I have zero expectation ..... but it's nice to speculate. Passes the time until delivery - whenever that may be! foliedouce said:
I ordered a convertible on 28/1 and have an October build date which was allocated last week.
This would apparently confirm the rumour that the rag tops are being built last.
Great to hear soft tops are being built too. I hadnt seen anything about RHD convertibles until now. My order was early May, so I know its still a long wait sadly. This would apparently confirm the rumour that the rag tops are being built last.

Colours - I have ordered Guard which I saw once, looked a little more grey than I expected which made me pleased not to have the black wheels, for my eye they didn't look quite right on that colour combo. I saw one specced-up GT in White, it looked awesome, a colour I initially wouldn't have gone for. Ingot silver and Magnetic looked a bit flat for me as did black I'm afraid. The surprise for me was Ruby Red which looked great, the best of the bunch I saw.
Glad you said that as I've ordered the Ruby Red although it started life as Magnetic and then Black. I thought the same in the end. I used to be decisive...unpc said:

I started as Ruby Red but changed to Magnetic, I really hope I don't live to regret it.....maybe we could swap
Nice try but no. I really liked the Magnetic but I have 2 black cars and a grey one on my drive already. I felt the neighbourhood needed an injection of colour.foliedouce said:

Mustang Owners Club mag (Round Up!) has a review of a Magnetic EB convertible (from the German press day); it looks stunning in the pics. The reviewer is a die hard Mustang guy and was knocked out by both the EB and the GT.rusgb said:
The same could be said of my Guard Grey, but the Bullitt connection makes that work for me :-)
There was a Guard coupe on display in Hull at the weekend, euro spec GT, I saw it at the Hull motor show on Sunday. I don't think you will be disappointed with the colour, but not sure about the Bullitt connection, it's far more grey than Dark Green like the movie carGassing Station | Mustangs | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
