Hi guys,

Got a completely free day tomorrow, and the weather is looking fine, so I'd like to get out for the day somewhere in the XKR as I've not had chance to have a fun drive out in it yet really... The joys of living in london.

Any recommendations for some good roads with a decent place to grab sunday lunch and get a few photos of the car etc?

I'm in West London, happy to drive a couple of hours each way, preferably somewhere west/southwest of London to avoid heading through the city or too much M25.

Cheers.

Where about are you starting from? South Bucks has some great roads. Come out through the Chalfonts. The main roads from Aylesbury out towards Buckingham and as you head out towards Silverstone are pretty good as are the ones near Waddeston.
Not very specific I know but some of my best drives have been on the roads that I have found myself one without really planning it. There is a good variety of smaller twisty roads and good, well sight, more open A and B roads.

As for lunch, there are plenty of really nice pubs to choose from as you travel around.

Hope this helps and that you have a good day (I would offer to join you as a bit of a route finder but children are playing Rugby today).

Thanks mate. I'm in Ealing.

I'll head out that way and have an explore.

Give me a shout if you ever fancy a run out at the weekend.

Bit late on this one but for future reference. Cookham/Marlow way has some good country roads and so does the area around Binfield which is towards Reading. If you want to go a little future afield 1Hour 15/30mins is the New Forest which has some amazing open roads with very few hedge lines. It's great in the winter but can get a little crowded in the summer. Well worth the drive, loads of nice places for lunch and also it has no speed cameras.
